Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
I would be honored to serve again as Chamber President/Chairman of the Board to continue leading our amazing progress.  When I served as President in 2016, we set a strategic plan in motion that would put our Chamber on a continued path for success.  If elected, my priority will be to lead our Board of Directors and work with our talented staff to set a new plan that will continue our success.  Since joining the board in 2013, our membership has about doubled, we have added value to our members and community, we improved our reputation, we strengthened relationships with other organizations and government officials, we created financial stability, and all while having fun making friends with many of you.  But our work is not finished; we must have established goals for future success.  What is important to you???  I look forward to learning that answer.

Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
As a Fallbrook resident for over 6 years, I have had the opportunity to speak to many people in town; most of whom agree there is a rich, underutilized potential here.  By joining the Board of Directors, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the various business operations as well as play an integral part in promoting Fallbrook business and Fallbrook as a whole.  In lieu of a City Council and with limited sized volunteer committees and associations, the Chamber Board of Directors struck me as the largest force for growth in the area.

My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:
In the mid-2000’s, I managed an elementary school AM/PM care for the San Marcos Unified School District while attending Cal State San Marcos.  During the recession, my family and I started brewing beer as a hobby.  In early 2011, we took possession of our current Vista facility and began remodeling.  In November, 2011, we opened for business.  Shortly after, in 2013, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  Using that degree, I created policies and procedures which aided in quadrupling our opening sales within 5 years.  Expanding on that knowledge, I opened our 2nd location here in Fallbrook.  I have also managed multiple beer events in our local area including the Vista Strawberry Festival, Taste of Vista, Vista Business Expo, Carlsbad Brew-fest, and Oceanside Harbor Days.

Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and the community of Fallbrook.
When I moved to Fallbrook 6 years ago, it was out of convenience.  Now I stay because of the environment.  I sincerely enjoy the quaintness of the town, the history of the people and the secluded nature of its geography.  Keeping those qualities and adding smart growth are at the center of my ideology.

Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
As the current director/treasurer and longtime volunteer, I would like to see the Chamber remain on the path it has created.  With over 30 years of volunteering I have the experience to work with staff and volunteers in a good environment.  I carry much history with our Chamber and would like to follow through to see what the Chamber’s next steps will be.

My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:
  • I was on the committee that started the Avocado Festival in 1986
  • Served as Avocado Festival Chairman more years than I can count
  • Chamber Ambassador 1986-1989
  • Board of Directors Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce 1989-1991
  • Chamber Board President-Elect 1995; President 1996; Past President 1997
  • Board of Directors Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce 2005-2007
  • Chamber Board President-Elect 2009; President 2010; Past President 2011
  • Currently serving as Treasurer (since 2017) on Chamber BoardPlease share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and the community of Fallbrook.
As one of the oldest volunteers to remain in the Chamber, there are a few more accomplishments I would like to see and follow through to make our Chamber a staple entity long after I am gone.  I have served on several committees over the years:  Avocado Festival, Christmas Parade, Budget Committee, Hiring CEO Committee, Finance Committee, Golf Committee, and Art of the Avocado Committee.  I have been awarded Citizen of the Year in 2004 and received the Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
I love when the news does the feel-good stories about “paying it forward.”  The Fallbrook Chamber has given me the support, encouragement, and resources to help me grow my business and connect with others, both professionally and personally.  I would like to serve on the Board so I can “pay it forward” by being actively involved in helping other individuals and businesses achieve the same sense of confidence and success when they join and participate in this Chamber.

My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:
In the past, I have been the President of the San Marcos Lions Club, Senior Vice President of the Auxiliary, and the Vice-President of Fallbrook Connections Networking Group.  I am currently President of the Auxiliary at the Fallbrook VFW Post 1924.  Since joining the Chamber, I have served on the Golf Committee, volunteered for many events, and have been an active Ambassador for the past year.

Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and the community of Fallbrook.
As a small business owner, I have many roles.  I am administrator, mediator, delegator, customer service provider, producer, secretary, accountant, and more.  I would be a team player on the Board and be able to help in any way or role that is necessary.

Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
My goal is to increase my service to our friendly village as a Board member.  Our current Chamber staff and Board both bring a WOW impact to our tight knit community.  This is evident in the continued business-driven, socially vibrant, and collaborative involvement of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce.

My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:
I am a North County Networking member and served as president in 2018.  Over the past several years, I have volunteered on several Fallbrook Chamber committees and activities such as founding committee team member of WIN (Women in Networking), the golf tournament, Avocado Festival, and my favorite…the Fallbrook Christmas Parade.  At St. Peter the Apostle Parish, I’ve spent many hours helping the Knights of Columbus with their various activities.  These types of involvement help others, and they also warm my own heart.  Win/Win!

Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and the community of Fallbrook.
Each year at the Installation Luncheon, CEO Lila tells us the incredible statistics of the Chamber’s ever-increasing growth.  It would be such an honor to be a part of the Board and have the opportunity to meet and engage these new individuals and businesses that are joining our community!
I really enjoy networking, which is about being active, understanding your community, and being able to refer those who may be a good fit for one another.
As a financial advisor, I understand the need for setting goals, creating a plan, then implementation and follow up.  These concepts apply to finances, community engagement, and business goals.
Regarding my ideas which would be of community benefit?  Participation and fresh ideas are key!

My wife, Julie, had been trying to get us to come to Fallbrook since we had come to North County and once we came here I fell in love with the area.  It reminds me a lot of my growing up in Orange County before it built out.  Bryce and Kayden, our sons, both have played water polo here and Kayden is a freshman now with our daughter Kinsey moving up from Potter to Fallbrook High next year.  With kids in the school systems for another 4.5 years, I would like to step up my activities to help shape the community we all share.  I feel I can be a contributing member to the Board and hope to play a bigger part in the future.  Thank you for your consideration.

Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:
I have been serving on the Board of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce for the past five years.  I finished my three-year term, then served one year as President of the Board, and one year as Past-President of the Board.  I have come to know the inner workings of the Chamber, I have been fortunate enough to work with amazingly intelligent and smart professionals from all walks, and I have enjoyed watching the Chamber membership grow and the members thrive through the efforts of the Board and staff.  I want to continue being part of that productive piece of making Fallbrook the great place it has come to be known for businesses, for families, and as a community.

As I stated above, I served my second term on the Chamber Board over the past five years, involved in many Board activities and serving as President for one of those years.  I have served on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, of which I served one year as President; the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of North County since 1996, three years of which I served as President of the Board, and the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club Foundation, two years of which I served as President of the Foundation.  I serve as advisory legal counsel for the Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center and have served in the past as advisory legal counsel for the Friends of the Fallbrook Library.

I have lived in Fallbrook since 1988 raising three children, all of whom went through the Fallbrook school districts through high school graduation.  I started my law practice here in Fallbrook in January 1989.  Both of my grandchildren are here in Fallbrook.  I have always loved this town and its unique charm and friendliness.  My experience as an attorney, mother, grandmother, and member of various Boards serving this community has given me great insight into the community’s needs.  I am pleased at the growth of membership and professionalism within our local Chamber of Commerce and would be honored to serve again on its governing body.
