1.  Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

1.  Why I would like to serve as President-Elect on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

In my current position I am fortunate to serve as an advocate for over 2,000 youth and their families in the Fallbrook community.  I would like to join the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to serve as a voice for the youth and families we serve.

2.  My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:

In my last two positions I have gained extensive experience in Board development.  I also serve as a representative for my Club in the community and would be happy to represent the Chamber at community events.  I believe that my experience in organizing and running various committees, working with volunteers, working at events and working for nonprofits will be assets that the Chamber could use to its advantage.

3.  Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and the community of Fallbrook.

One of our Board members mentioned last week that “Protecting our community is the responsibility of the people.”  I believe that if we want a strong, healthy and successful community, not just for current residents but also for those who will come after us, then we should be willing to step up and serve.  I have only been in this community for seven years but I love the people here and I would be honored to use my skills and talents to do whatever I can to help the vision and mission of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce!

 1.  Why I would like to serve on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

The Fallbrook Chamber has provided me the support, encouragement and resources to help my business grow as well as connect with other business owners and the community.  As a member of the Fallbrook Board of Directors, I want to contribute to the planning and implementation of projects, support events and programs to assist other businesses and Fallbrook residents.

For the second year, I am the Auxiliary President of the Fallbrook V.F.W. Post 1924.  I have been Present of the San Marcos Lions Club, past Senior Vice President of the Auxiliary, and the Vice President of the Fallbrook Connections.  Since joining the Chamber in 2016, I have volunteered annually at several community events including Bark in the Park, Avocado Festival, Harvest Faire, car shows and most anywhere needed, when I am available.  I have been on the committee for the Annual Charity Golf Tournament since I joined.  Additionally, I volunteer regularly at the Fallbrook V.F.W. as cashier and server for Post meals and brunches.  I competed for Fallbrook Honorary Mayor in 2019 raising funds for the Fallbrook Chamber and the Fallbrook V.F.W.  I am currently the Ambassador of the Year for the Fallbrook Chamber.

3.  Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and community of Fallbrook.

I have a strong love and passion for Fallbrook.  Actively involved for several years in the Chamber has enabled me to get to know a lot of other business owners and residents.  We love our community!  Fallbrook business owners know their voices are heard and that there is a place to go when we have ideas or concerns.  That place business owners trust for assistance is the Chamber.  The Chamber can implement change when needed and gives our businesses and residents support and services.  I know I will be an asset to the Board because I am committed and will work hard as a team member to help the Chamber carry on their efforts to improve the livelihood of both business leaders and individuals who reside and trade in our unique and friendly village.

I am inspired and grateful to be a part of the Fallbrook Chamber and community of caring and thoughtful leaders who aim to create an environment of camaraderie and success for all.  Thank you.

The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has been diligently at work improving member business and personal connections.  Additionally, the Chamber provides transparency and problem solving for community issues by forming committees such as building codes, law enforcement and homelessness.  As a board member, I feel I would be able to further dedicate my own efforts in assisting the Chamber with community progress.

2.  My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:

  • President of North County Networking 2018
  • Volunteer for various Chamber committees including Chamber Ambassador, running for Honorary Mayor, WIN, and the Charity Golf Tournament, 2015-present
  • Volunteer for St. Peter’s funeral ministry, 2019-present

3.  Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and community of Fallbrook.

As a 21+ year Fallbrook resident, I have enjoyed putting my two wonderful kids through both the private and public school system here in town.  I have watched the town of Fallbrook flourish as a community while keeping the small town feel.  At the beginning of 2019 I launched my own financial services firm, Imagine Financial Services.  I am available to support the financial goals of our community members, promote the Chamber and wish to serve.  Thank you for the opportunity to run for the Fallbrook Chamber Board of Directors.

1.  Why I would like to serve on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

I joined the Chamber shortly after moving to Fallbrook.  I have been pleasantly surprised at how well run the Fallbrook Chamber is.  I am impressed by the dedication and efforts above and beyond by the staff and previous boards.  We are blessed to be a part of this outstanding organization and I wish to lend my hand where I can to continue its good work.

Too often people get on these boards just to “look good” to the public.  That is a bonus to be sure, but it is important to be a board member willing to work and help.  During my membership, and prior to being asked to run for the board, I volunteered where I could.  I delivered renewal member gifts multiple times, delivered Christmas Parade flyers along Mission Avenue, worked in the Chamber Harvest Faire booth and helped clear up and put things away.  The staff is fantastic, but we as members have to pitch in and do our part.

The Chamber needs workers, not watchers, on the Board.  And we have to show up.  I attend every Chamber event as I am able.  I am always surprised at the number of people at some events who are absent at others.

2.         My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:

I had been an active member of the Carlsbad and Dana Point Chambers in the past and had been a chair of the Business Resource committee of the Carlsbad Chamber for 4 years.  In that position, my committee and I expanded their First Friday Breakfast from about 75 to 150 persons attending.  We did that by analyzing why people attended and implementing fun activities that met the needs of the Chamber members.

Incremental improvements are always possible, even for our well-oiled machine.  I am a person who tries to think outside the box, who sees beyond the visible to what might be possible.

I want to help the Chamber members get more out of their membership, help them to be more successful in their businesses and help the Chamber to continue to develop effective means to accomplish that.

3.         Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and community of Fallbrook.

Professionally, I have been a small business owner for 35 plus years and as a business attorney, I have counseled and helped hundreds of business people to be more successful in their businesses.

I am a skilled networker.  I know what it takes to use platforms like the Chamber to build and strengthen business.  I believe we can do incrementally better as we continue the programs already in place and focus on the needs and goals of the membership.  Board members should make their best effort to come, help, volunteer, support and be the hosts.  We need to be introducing “new” people to others who might be a good business connection, following up, answering questions and helping other businesses succeed in Fallbrook.

1.         Why I would like to serve on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

I would like to serve on the Board because I can see the value of the Chamber to the community and  local businesses.  I would like to lend my personal effort to the vision of the Chamber.  It would be an honor and a privilege to serve.

2.         My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:

I was involved in the Lake Rancho Viejo HOA election process in 2005-2006.  I served as a Deacon at Sonrise Christian Fellowship from 2016-2019.  As a business owner, I have organizational, decision-making and social skills which I hope would be an asset to the Chamber and beyond.

3.         Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and community of Fallbrook.

I have lived in Fallbrook for 19 years and have developed a heart for the community.  I have experienced first-hand the benefit of becoming involved with the Chamber and I believe in giving back.

1.         Why I would like to serve on the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors:

I have experienced the value as a business owner of what the Chamber does for the community and the local businesses.  Serving for the Chamber would be an honor and I believe I can add value for the community and for small businesses.  I have the greatest admiration towards the staff, resources, mission and opportunities provided by Chamber and would not take it for granted.

2.         My past experiences I feel will be an asset to this position:

I have Bachelors degrees in Accounting and Business Management and a Masters in Organization Psychology.  I have owned 15 businesses, been a keynote speaker with the focus on the psychology of influence and the most relevant experience I have is that I have provided that a small business based in the town of Fallbrook can be successful when all odds are against you.  I have the drive and loyalty to this village to add value to finding ways to help small businesses succeed.  Though the Chamber has more goals than just small businesses, I feel my value would be most beneficial in small business growth and influencing others of the advantages the Chamber has to offer.

Not only do I genuinely admire this village, I care for all the residents in Fallbrook.  I’ve volunteered to clean up the streets after the Avocado Festival every year since inception, hang up signs and am always excited to contribute to anything to help the Chamber.

3.         Please share any other relevant information that makes you feel qualified for this position.  Include any thoughts and ideas you may have which would benefit the Board, Chamber members and community of Fallbrook.

As far as qualifications are concerned, my perspective of this position would be to do whatever it takes to assist in any way possible.  I give my word that if chosen, I will follow instructions without compromise, serve and volunteer when needed, provide feedback if requested and learn how to be the best asset for the Chamber and educate others on ways to provide the impact needed for this organization.

I would personally like to see more workshops offered that would provide benefit to other locally owned businesses.  I believe sending emails to the members of the Chamber asking them what they would find valuable, using the results and finding the resources best suited to provide the return would be beneficial.  As a Chamber member, I become more enthusiastic and eager to volunteer for something, attend a networking event, sponsor an event or contribute to something whenever I am personally asked.  I believe having others delegated to personally invite other members to these occasions would increase attendance at events while providing an enthusiasm of empathy and encouragement.

I have past experiences and education that look great on paper and could provide value to the Chamber.  However, those attributes are in the past.  These were accomplishments from goals I set out to achieve.  With the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors, I am confident that I can add value, not based on my prior experiences, but on my present goals, intentions and admiration for the Chamber.
